Emily Buckley, BSW, RSW Clinical Intern

Emily is a gentle weaver of stories who believes that every person carries a meaningful journey within them. She understands that sharing your story can be a deeply empowering experience, and that the hurts you’ve carried and the losses you’ve faced deserve to be seen, heard, and held with compassion.

Emily believes that healing can unfold within a safe, trusting therapeutic relationship—one where you feel supported to explore your experiences, reconnect with yourself, and make space for what matters most. Together, new possibilities can emerge, and hopes and dreams that may have felt distant can begin to take root and grow.

Training Background

Emily’s path into mental health has been rooted in a deep commitment to supporting people and strengthening the communities around them. She brings a decade of professional experience working alongside individuals and communities, grounded in a Bachelor of Social Work earned in 2018. Presently, Emily is completing her Master of Social Work through Dalhousie University.

Early in her career, Emily worked in housing and community support, while also serving for seven years on the Board of Directors of a community organization focused on food security. Through these experiences, she developed a deeper understanding of the challenges people can face in accessing basic needs, navigating systems, and finding stability and support within their communities.

Today, Emily works within a local community mental health agency, where she provides intake assessments, helps clients navigate services and systems, and offers brief and single-session therapy. Across her years of professional experience, she has developed a broad understanding of the personal, social, and systemic factors that can shape a person’s well-being.

Emily brings warmth, curiosity, and compassion to her therapeutic work, creating a space where you can feel heard, respected, and supported without judgment.

She supports people navigating grief, trauma, depression, identity, and significant life transitions, helping them make sense of their experiences, reconnect with themselves, and find a path forward. Emily works collaboratively to build coping tools and inner resources that foster greater grounding, confidence, and connection.

She also incorporates creative and expressive arts as gentle ways to explore experiences that can be difficult to put into words. Emily welcomes people at many stages of life and is passionate about helping clients rediscover who they are beyond what they have experienced.
